If you park near the northern start of the Caminito del Rey, you will need the shuttle bus after your walk to get back to your car. The Caminito is a one-way route, finishing in the El Chorro area, where the shuttle bus connects with the northern access points.
The shuttle bus costs €2.50 per person. You can buy the bus ticket online when booking your Caminito del Rey entry, or pay the driver when you board. Cash is accepted, but card payments are not, so it is a good idea to carry €2.50 in change.
You can also do things the other way around: park in the El Chorro area and take the shuttle bus to the northern start before your walk. The advantage is that your car is waiting for you at the end of the Caminito.
I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain. My articles contain affiliate links that will help you reserve a hotel, bus, train or activity in the area. You don’t pay more, but by using them you do support this website. Thankyou!
